This work was inspired by the theory of duration by the French philosopher Henri Bergson.
Time is not a number divided like the hands of a clock, but an unbroken flow in which the past permeates the present and the present pushes forward into the future. I expressed this through the metaphor of an underwater melody, projected via the Muse located in an underwater base.
Duration is the uninterrupted progression that expands as the past encroaches upon and advances into the future.
This song is a record of the moment I discovered myself in the very heart of that progression.
What does your time look like?
Is it like the rigid, ticking marks of a clock hand?
Or is it a ceaselessly flowing, permeating wave?
